TARLAC OUTDOOR CLUB BACK TO SCHOOL PROJECT: One Passion. One Mission.

‘The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.’

It has been a fruitful year for TARLAC OUTDOOR CLUB; but among our many achievements this 2019, the most significant was the inception of the BACK TO SCHOOL PROJECT. The aim of this outreach initiative was to change or improve the life of underprivileged Filipino youth, but it turns out to have changed our lives instead. The opportunity to give back to the community was a life changing experience for all of us involved in this project. To have put smiles on people’s faces was truly rewarding. It ignited the passion within us to serve others in the simplest ways we can. We also realized that it's not how much we give but how much love we put into giving that matters. We like to think we became better individuals with a deep sense of purpose because of this endeavor, and the wisdom and blessings we received were limitless and priceless. Indeed, it is in giving that we receive, and it is much more fulfilling to offer love and support to those who need it. Yes, love only grows by sharing. You can only have more for yourself by giving it away to others.

The TARLAC OUTDOOR CLUB Outreach and Community Engagement is a unit of TARLAC OUTDOOR CLUB manned by passionate and dedicated individuals who are committed to volunteering, outreach, civic engagement activities, projects and programs. This is in line with our mission to foster fellowship among our members with other organizations and local communities. Our projects aim to empower the youth through education; to raise awareness regarding social issues; to help and uplift the lives of the underprivileged sector of our society; and to participate in nation building.

Our main advocacy is education, and our flagship activity is the BACK TO SCHOOL PROJECT. The TARLAC OUTDOOR CLUB BACK TO SCHOOL PROJECT is an outreach initiative that aims to solicit school supplies and distribute these to student beneficiaries in the most far-flung areas of our country. The project provides school supplies kits which contain notebooks, pad papers, pencils, pens and other school necessities to eligible Filipino grade school students. Each kit also contains a health kit consisting of a toothbrush, toothpaste, bath soap and hand towel. The project would also provide new slippers, rain boots, shoes, and rain coat. We also conduct games, workshops and activities to hone the talents and boost the self-confidence of the students. Poetry writing, art session, basic personal hygiene and values formation activities are conducted coinciding with the BACK TO SCHOOL PROJECT.

Through cash and material donations from various donors, the project provides these basic school necessities to our student beneficiaries with the help of our dedicated volunteers.

We believe that a good education has the power to change a life, but the sad reality is that not every Filipino child has the privilege of receiving quality education. There are those who go to school without the most basic of school supplies. We want to make a difference and provide assistance and inspiration to every Filipino student. We encourage every student to go to school no matter how hard life and the circumstances are. And above all, we want every Filipino student to go to school with pride, dignity, and drive to uplift themselves and their community.

TARLAC OUTDOOR CLUB is accepting cash and material donations such as school and hygiene supplies, new footwear, and rain gears. You may donate school supplies like bags, notebooks, pad papers, pencils, pens, sharpener, eraser, glue and ruler; hygiene supplies like toothpaste, toothbrush, bath soap and hand towel; and rain coat, umbrella, a pair of slippers or rain boots.
